Flaw Detectors

Novotest Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge distributed by Link Instruments – non-destructive testing device for precise thickness measurement in industrial applications.

Ultrasonic Flaw Detector UD3701

Availability of may useful functions

The device offers envelop mode for detecting signal peas, one-key auto zoom on selected gates, and a fill function that enhances visibility by colouring the A-Scan signal. It also supports measurement simulation from stored records and provides movable parameter blocks that can be positioned anywhere on the A-Scan.

Other functions:

  • Auto Zoom
  • Fill Function
  • Measurement Simulation
  • Movable measurement value blocks

Automatic Defect Signalling

Using two independent gates, the operator can adjust the amplitude or range(time) boundary parameters of the scan signals, which trigger audio and visual indications when defects are detected. This enable the operator to inspect the object without constantly watching the display, thereby reducing the overall complexity of the testing process.

Ultrasonic Flaw Detector UD3701

The top version of the ultrasonic flaw detector with a large touchscreen display for convenient work in the laboratory or workshop. Ii also has wide range functionality and high performance.

Any Display Orientation

The Ultrasonic Flaw Detector UD2301 features a versatile screen orientation system that adapts to testing conditions. The display can be set to either vertical or horizontal mode and fully rotated 360 degrees, making it convenient for both right-handed and left-handed users.

Multifunctional

The device offers extensive functionality:

  •  It supports both A-Scan and B-Scan signal displays, enabling the operator to choose the most suitable mode for the specific task.
  • It is equipped with two independent gates, allowing parameter evaluation in different scan areas. With the automatic defect alarm feature, threshold setting can be individually adjusted for each gate.
  • For enhanced signal analysis, the device includes freeze and envelope functions, helping the user more accurately interpret the acquired data.

Ultrasonic Flaw Detector UD2301

An ultrasonic flaw detector is a compact, high-performance tool used in non-destructive testing to identify voids and irregularities within materials. It is well-suited for use in both manufacturing environments and on site field inspections.

SPECIFICATION

Ultrasonic Flaw Detector UD2303

Flaw Detector Capabilities

Based on customer needs and experience with various flaw detectors, the UD2303 introduces several useful upgrades:

  • New weld inspection mode compliant with AWS D1.1, including semi-automatic evaluation and audio alerts when limits are exceeded.
  • Enhanced signal stability through fast averaging.
  • Higher measurement accuracy with a sampling rate up to 200 MHz.
  • Support for both metric and imperial units.
  • Extended battery life up tp 10 hours (or 20 hours by special order).

Operating Modes

  • ASD mode – provides an audible signal for monitoring large structures or hard-to-reach areas where viewing the display difficulty. Alarm parameters can be configured as needed.
  • TVG mode – Time-varied gain adjustment that equalises signal amplitudes from identical defects located at different depths.
  • DAC mode – Creates an amplitude-distance curve to evaluate and reject products based on a specified equivalent reflector size (defect).
  • DGS mode – Enables wide-range thickness and defect evaluation using a single reference reflector, automatically generating a calculated amplitude-distance-defect curve.
  •  AWS mode – Performs weld inspection and automatic classification according to AWS D1.1 standards, useful for companies operating under AWS requirements.
